CLUB CHALLENGE 2006

The Stillwater R/C Flyers will be having Club Racing again this year with Ryan promising "The prizes will be over the top this year with details to come!".  Last year Gene Smith put down the chanllenge by offering up $100 to be split between 1st through 3rd place.  The top finishers last year were Gene Smith in First Place, Ryan Witchey in Second Place and Neil Retherford in Third Place.  Ryan says, "This year should be a good one as it looks like will have a lot of competition!".  The Race Season will begin Sunday April 2nd and the season will end in September.  Please read the Local Rules for the CLUB CHALLENGE 2006 series.

The field will be available for racing practice most Saturdays from 1 to 2 PM.  If Gene is unable to attend, he will be glad to show someone where the pylon poles are kept.  The poles are ten feet long, so you will need an appropriate vehicle to transport them.  If no one is practicing with the pylons, flyers may use the field as usual during that time.  We will try to have two races per month.  All races will be on Sunday from 2 to 3pm.

The CD makes the call on the weather.  Quickies are easy to fly in the wind.  Winds up to the 15 to 20 mph range are OK as long as they are from the south.  Wind greater than ten mph from the north can be a problem due to the fact we have to take off to the South.

You are responsible for having a legal plane.  See the rules page.  Be sure to pick up some extra 9/6 APC props.  We will not provide props but will expect you to have a legal APC 9/6.

We may want to poll flyers before each race date to be sure there will be a quorum.
