That's right, amazing as it sounds The Chronicle is sponsoring the event. Why? Well, the MC has received a request from Joe's wife Judy. She is just too cute and sweet to be denied, besides, who could turn down the request of a victim like the wife of Joe Sindelar. Many difficult tasks have to be overcome to establish this event, not being the least is the actual day. See the next column for how the editor arrived at the decision for the date. |
ACTUAL
DAY APPROACHES!
COMING up with the day to be nice to JOE SINDELAR was a extremely difficult task. For example, it was suggested we could just be nice to him on his birthday, but this was considered too personal. Someone suggested Christmas, but this was too religious. Another reason to rule out these events is because they occur ANNUALLY and that would be TOO much to expect from people to be nice to Joe Sindelar ONCE A YEAR! Then the brilliance struck the editor (which happens fairly often actually) There is a day that actually has JOE SINDELAR'S name written all over it and it is coming up soon! So, THE MORRISON CHRONICLE is officially declaring APRIL FOOL'S DAY, 2001 to be the official "Be Nice to JOE SINDELAR DAY" This will not be an annual occurrence but only once every DECADE unless readers wish to postpone the event for later on in the century. In addition, NO ONE is expected to be nice to Joe for A WHOLE DAY on April 1st. That would be asking too much. So you may sign up to be nice to Joe Sindelar for ONE HOUR during that day. Please note that the "be nice" part of this day only applies to being nice "in person". Hate e-mail or phone calls are not covered by this event and are encouraged to continue at their normal pace. Be sure to sign up for your ONE hour of being nice to Joe Sindelar soon. You do not have to live in the state or the country for that matter and all signers so far are making sure that they will not actually run in to Joe during that one hour that they agreed to be nice to him. So far two people have signed up and we need only 22 more to "cover" the day. The blind are encouraged to apply and those who have reason to believe they can be NO where near Joe on that day. |
Finding out that the hour between 3 and 4AM is already reserved by the editor, she has signed up for the hour 2-3 AM. She was especially glad to hear that in the unlikely event that Joe calls her between those hours, she is not obligated to be nice for the day only covers "in person" niceness. |
