CURRENT AUCTION UPDATES
There are no updates to current auctions. If you're bidding on one of our auctions, please check this section often.
POSTAGE
Buyer pays fixed-rate postage unless stated otherwise. We compute the postage amount using the
USPS Domestic Calculator
and state the price in the auction ad when
possible. We do the best we can to charge accurate postage, but there are times when we
over-or-under estimate. If we underestimate, we'll pay the difference. If we overestimate, the
difference will be considered a handling fee. If you wish reconsideration for a postage rate,
please ask - we're not trying to rip you off. We won't make refunds of less than $1.00, and
any refund will be made via PayPal.
SHIPPING
Check our other auctions - we'll combine
postage when we can.
We pack items thoughtfully to make sure your
package arrives safely. You may request special packaging, and we'll accommodate if we can;
buyer to pay any additional costs. Packages are usually shipped the workday (Monday-Friday)
after payment is received - sometimes on the same day.
We ship via U.S.
Postal Service. We do not use UPS unless stated in the auction ad, or unless the buyer
specifically requests it and we agree to it before the auction closes. There will be a $2 fee added if the buyer requires UPS shipping, as
their facility is open on a very limited basis in our area, and it take considerably more
effort for us to ship via UPS.
RETURNED PACKAGES - Occasionally
packages are returned. We will contact the winner by e-mail. If we aren't contacted and provided
a deliverable address within 10 calendar days, we reserve the right to re-list or dispose of
the item.
HANDLING
We do not routinely charge a handling fee unless we know we will incur significant charges for packaging materials, and it will
be noted in the auction ad. Nominal postage overages will be considered a handling fee.
INSURANCE
We do not require insurance, but we do
encourage it. We rarely have anything broken during shipping, but you just never know when a
Postal Clerk will decide to pay kick ball with your package. Insurance fees are as determined
by U.S. Postal rates. Current rates are: $1.30
(up to $50); $2.20 ($50-$100); add $1.00 for each additional $100 of insurance. We are not
responsible for uninsured broken or lost packages. Buyer is responsible for filing any claims.
If the item you've purchased isn't breakable
and you just want to make sure when it was shipped, Delivery Confirmation is free with Priority
mail.
We reserve the right to self-insure packages at our discretion.
PAYMENT
We prefer payment by PayPal
, but we'll accept a money order if the buyer
prefers.
Checks are accepted from eBayers with a feedback rating of at least 50 with no negatives.
If we don't receive an e-mail from the winning
bidder within 3 calendar days after the auction closes, OR if we don't receive payment within
10 calendar days after auction closes, we reserve the right to void the original sale and
offer the item to the next highest bidder, relist it, or otherwise dispose of the item.
PAYPAL
We've used PayPal a lot, and we are very
satisfied with their service. PayPal never charges a fee to the buyer, and we do not pass our
PayPal seller's fees on to the buyer.
U.S. BIDDERS PREFERRED
We charge a flat fee of $10 plus additional
postage for all auctions where the payment will be mailed from an address other than a U.S. state
or APO address, or where the ship-to address is other than a U.S. state or APO address. Our local branch Post Office won't
accept foreign packages, and we must go to the main Post Office, stand in line, and fill out
forms. We calculate international postage using the USPS web site, and the calculations usually don't cover
the amount of postage actually charged, and the $10 fee helps pay the additional cost. It isn't that we don't like folks from other places, it's just that mailing packages to
them eats up our time. If postage is higher for shipments to Hawaii and Alaska, the buyer is
responsible for postage cost above what is stated in the auction page for U.S. postage, but
the $10 fee will not apply.
DESCRIPTIONS
We try to always include photos. We sometimes
have trouble getting the true colors to show in photos, and we try to describe the difference
in color when that happens. We describe each item and identify all damage that we see. If you
receive an item that has damage that we missed, please let us know, and we'll work it out.
Our items are stored in a smoke free environment.
LOOKUPS
We often offer history, geographic, and genealogy books for sale. I will do lookups in indexed books for $1 each, payable through PayPal only, time permitting. I hate to charge for lookups, but I've getten so many requests, it's the only way I know to distinguish the serious from the curious. Please e-mail me before you send PayPal payment.
FEEDBACK
We try to post positive feedback immediately for our buyers when payment is received via PayPal, or if payment was sent within a day or two of the auction's close. When we receive payment through the mail and the postmark date is more than a few days after the close of the auction, we usually wait to post feedback until we know the package has been received and the purchaser is happy with the transaction. Most people we've dealt with on eBay have been very reasonable, and delightful to deal with - but there are a few jerks out there who delight in ruining ANYBODY's
day! If we fail to post positive feedback for you, please remind us.
GIFT WRAP
We're occasionally asked to prepare a
package as a gift and mail it to the gift recipient. We'll be glad to accommodate when we can,
but we will charge an additional fee, depending what the buyer requests (gift wrap, gift bag, ribbons,
bows, card, etc.).
CLOTHING
We sometimes sell used clothing. We
describe any wear or damage that we can find honestly, but we do occasionally miss something.
If you purchase an item and discover undescribed damage that will minimize the item's usefulness
or that will be visible when worn, please e-mail us, and we will work something out to your satisfaction. Normal signs of wear should be expected. Do not assume used clothing is like new unless we
say so in the auction ad. According to Webster,
"vintage" is anything "...classic, outmoded, old-fashioned..." - so if we don't figure we
could find an item in the mall, we may consider it vintage. All used clothing is
cleaned according to manufacturer's instructions.
COMPLAINTS
If you're unhappy with our transaction, please
e-mail us. We're reasonable people and want you to be pleased with your purchase.

RETURNS
We will accept returns within 14 days after
the package was mailed, for a full refund of the auction price if we incorrectly described or misrepresented an item. We make every effort to provide accurate descriptions, but mistakes can happen. Does not apply to uninsured items damaged during shipping.
PERSONAL
We have separate eBay user names (OKKATHY and
VANBUBBA) to try to minimize confusion about who's taking care of what. (If you've been married more than 30 years, you'll know what I'm talking about!) We go to lots of garage, estate, and junk sales. The house is overflowing with unique and wonderful stuff, and some of it just has to go! We hope to continue offering interesting treasures for your consideration on eBay.
All eBay rules apply.
We must hear from the winning bidder within 3 calendar days after close of auction.
Payment must be received within 10 calendar days after close of auction.
Don't bid unless you inend to pay.
